Bright Blue Freshwater Pearl Earrings, Argentium sterling silver handmade ear wires

The color of these pearls is amazing! I picked these up from an Etsy seller whose family is in the pearl farming business. Natural, genuine freshwater pearls, approx 7-8 mm.

Sometimes simple is better. These earrings are simple, classic and elegant. The pearls are topped off with seamless sterling silver rounds.

The ear wires are handmade. Made with 20 gauge Argentium Sterling Silver wire, I have shaped these ear wires in pairs here in my home studio. Once shaped, I file and de-bur the ends for a comfortable fit. Then the ear wires are hammered for strength. Finally, I polish them to a shine by hand. Argentium Silver is more expensive, but it is low maintenance (rarely needs polishing), so worth the extra cost! I love that shiny silver finish!

Note: Argentium sterling silver wire has 93% silver, just like traditional sterling . But made with a touch of germanium that severely inhibits tarnish. Now you can enjoy the gleaming silver that rarely needs polishing.
